FINAL Call for papers: 5th International Global Wordnet Conference

The Global Wordnet Association is pleased to announce the Fifth International Conference of the Global WordNet Association (GWC-2010). The conference will be held at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Mumbai, India, January, 2010.

We invite papers addressing the topics listed below. Also proposals for tutorials on building wordnets and demonstrations of wordnet databases, and wordnet-based software are welcome.



Papers

We invite papers addressing the following topics:

  1. Linguistics and WordNet, including:
    1. In depth analysis of Semantic Relations
    2. Theoretical definitions of word meaning
    3. Necessity and Completeness issues
    4. Ontologies and wordnets
    5. The lexicon and wordnets
  2. Architecture of WordNet, including:
    1. Language independent and language dependent components
  3. Tools and Methods for Wordnet Development, including:
    1. User and Data entry interface, organization
    2. Extending and enriching wordnets
  4. WordNet as a lexical resource and component of NLP and MT, including:
    1. Word sense disambiguation using wordnet
    2. Ontologies and WordNet
    3. The Lexicon and WordNet
  5. Applications of WordNet, including:
    1. Information Extraction and Retrieval
    2. Document Structuring and Categorization
    3. Automatic Hyperlinking
    4. Language Teaching
    5. Psycholinguistic Applications
  6. Standardization, distribution and availability of wordnets and wordnet tools.


Presentations

Presentations will fall into one of the following categories:

  1. long papers (30 mins)
  2. short papers (15 mins)
  3. project reports (10 mins)
  4. demonstrations (20 mins)
